Description
Pair of extremely rare finely detailed engraved English gunmetal candlesticks. Circa 1785. Height 10 1/2″. These candlesticks were made to commemorate the relief by Admiral Howe of the siege of Gibraltar by the Spanish. Similar signed examples are known by T. Warner, made from destroyed Spanish cannons captured on the 14th of September, 1782.
